Jack Wolfskin has entire collections dedicated to bikepacking. The Gravex series consists of tights, shorts, jerseys, waistcoats, etc. in contrasting colours that still match. The FZ longsleeve fits close to the body but is not skin-tight, it is long-sleeved but not too warm, so you can use the sleeves on a cool evening ride or as protection against contact with hedges, for example. If you're out and about for a long time, the weather can change from time to time. When it suddenly gets colder, a gilet is still the first choice. We discovered a warm aid with a really small pack size at AGU. It is not only practical, but also suitable for going out, meaning it also looks good for a café or a stroll through town. Lightweight windbreaker from Vaude
Outdoor outfitter Vaude has also discovered sporty bikers. We particularly liked the Kuro Air wind jacket, which is lightweight, packs down small and has a clever cut. Overlong at the back, it protects your back and bum at the same time, it fits snugly around the torso without flapping, but it is slightly wider at the arms, making it much easier to put on than you are used to. The upper back and cuffs are much more stretchy, making it easy to get into a sporty position. It keeps the wind out perfectly.

Smart bike shirt from Gobik
From the outside, it's just a loose-fitting functional shirt for bikers, recognisable by the slightly longer cut and the three pockets on the back. The very smart highlight is on the inside: Because their contents dangle wildly back and forth on the loose-fitting fabric, the Volt jersey has a wide elasticated waistband (detailed image) which, when closed, pulls the stowed load against the body and holds it in place without disturbing the casual look. Discreet cycling shoe from Vaude
With the MTB Kuro, Vaude offers a shoe with a semi-rigid sole that performs well on the bike - with or without clipless pedals - but also allows for short distances on foot. The classic lacing system and perforated leather are hardly noticeable and keep your feet equally comfortable when cycling and walking. This means you don't necessarily have to take a casual shoe with you when travelling by bike. In contrast to the latter, the Kuro prevents numb feet caused by punctual pressure from the pedals. High-tech MTB shoe from AGU
If you want to gravel ambitiously, there's no getting round click pedals and sturdy, lightweight shoes. In addition to power transmission, comfort and weight are also important. At AGU, we found the M810 to be a seamless shoe with a stiff carbon sole and two BOA lacing systems. The twist mechanisms distribute the tensile forces perfectly across the instep and can be quickly tightened or widened while riding. Protective goggles and sunglasses from Rudy Project
Sun protection and good ventilation are the be-all and end-all when it comes to cycling goggles, but physical protection of the eyes is also very important for gravel biking. The Kelion from Rudy Project with its narrow, cylindrical shape fits snugly around the face and seals almost tightly, preventing foreign bodies and dust from entering. The Stormchaser Ace helmet, which Abus has manufactured in Italy, weighs just 220 grams. Thanks to the shimmering metallic outer chassis, which is completely wrapped around the lower edge and into the ventilation holes, it looks particularly solid and high-quality.
