Wind and weather stay outside. The Gore-Tex membrane of the lightweight "Alp-X" jacket promises rain protection in adverse weather conditions - even on long rides. The back section, which is pulled far down, is a pleasant feature and protects against water spray from the rear tyre. The collar is sealed with an elasticated band and there is an additional layer of fabric over the zips. Unfortunately, there is no hood, which would complete the rain suitability. Two practical pockets, one of which is on the back, offer sufficient storage space for important small items. The breathability feels very good. Thanks to its small pack size, the "Alp-X Jacket" fits perfectly into the Transalp rucksack. The elaborate design comes at a price: 250 euros are charged for the rain shell.
Conclusion: Those who don't let bad weather spoil their mood are well advised to wear this well-designed Gore jacket.
