Effective weather protection for cyclists: Testing the Cube Road / XC Rain Jacket
The Cube Road / XC Rain Jacket is robust rain protection for sporty riders on road bikes, gravel bikes or mountain bikes. It is waterproof and windproof and, according to the manufacturer, very vapour permeable, making it suitable for intensive tours in changeable weather. It can be conveniently stowed away in its side pocket. The innovative 2.5-layer CUBE Primetronic material with taped seams and a water column of 10,000 mm is designed to provide reliable protection against rain. The cut is tailored to the cyclist's posture and offers a high level of comfort. The jacket is currently only available in a men's cut; according to the manufacturer, a women's model is still being planned. In addition to classic black, there is also an eye-catching version in the signal colour orange - for better visibility in traffic.

Conclusion: The cut doesn't fit perfectly at the front and back - the back is too short, which is clearly noticeable when reaching for the handlebars. The material quickly feels sweaty and rustles noticeably. There is currently only a men's model, a women's cut is to follow. The cut flaws affect the handling: the material ripples at the front, which means that the zip cannot be operated with one hand. On the other hand, the jacket has very good features and offers reliable weather protection even after washing, with a dense finish and good beading behaviour.
