From the huge range of functional jackets on offer, TREKKINGBIKE has selected the models that have the widest range of uses and offer the best compromise between a cycling jacket and an all-round jacket. Good basic material is a must. Gore-Tex materials are used in nine of the thirteen functional jackets presented.
The others use the manufacturer's own fabrics, but they all work according to the same layering principle. A waterproof membrane is laminated onto a robust outer fabric, usually made of polyamide. In addition, there is a lining that is either loose (2-layer jacket) or also welded to the outer fabric and membrane (3-layer jacket).
