Even at freezing point, a long vest under the Assos winter jacket is usually sufficient. If the thermometer does drop lower, thicker underwear is a good way to compensate. Water-repellent material on the outside, a warming fleece layer on the inside, and as a softshell it is windproof anyway. The integrated shawl collar, which can also be pulled over the mouth and nose and stowed in the upper back area, prevents heat from escaping to the outside and cold wind from penetrating. Three back pockets, well-fitting cuffs - everything you need is there.
However, this adds up to a relatively heavy jacket. Once in motion, however, the 640 grams are not noticeable in a negative way. However, if you have upper arms with weights, the sleeves can quickly become too tight. The jacket has an Italian cut, i.e. a tight fit, so you should choose a size larger than usual. Especially as a tight jacket also keeps you less warm. If you are not afraid of investing almost 300 euros, you can learn to appreciate winter as a season for training again. Then all you really need to do is keep your feet and hands warm.

Almost 300 euros for a jacket is a lot of money. However, anyone who rides through the winter will be pleased with the clever details such as the neck warmer and the good weather protection. The materials are also robust and should therefore last a long time.
