Already ridden: Endura baggy and bib shorts combo
The Endura combination of spray baggy and 3/4 bib shorts has accompanied accessories editor Stefan Frey for years, from the day the first leaves turn colour to the sprouting of the lily of the valley.

The MT500 Spray Baggy is one of the few hybrid trousers on the market: its robust back is waterproof and keeps your bum dry. That's half the battle for pleasant rides in cool temperatures. Nevertheless, the material is nice and airy, even if it does rustle a little when pedalling. Thanks to the higher cut rear and waistband adjustment, the MT500 sits very securely and can be adjusted perfectly. Two zip pockets, ventilation openings and belt loops round off the solid features. Underneath, the brushed FS260 keeps the thighs at operating temperature and prevents the knees from cooling down. The soft stretch material is waterproof and offers at least light protection against splashing water. The comfortable straps are completely closed at the back for additional warmth. A zip at the front makes it easier to move around in between. Wide, rubberised cuffs below the knees keep the trousers in place. And this is also their big advantage over knee warmers: Nothing can slip. So you can overlook the minor stylistic sin of 3/4-length trousers.

Conclusion from Stefan Frey, BIKE test editor on the Endura MT500 Spray Baggy Short and FS260-Pro Thermo Bibknicker combo

From a fashion point of view, the 3/4 trousers are on rather thin ice. But with the Spray Baggy over them, they become a functional combination for almost any weather.

Stefan Frey is from Lower Bavaria and loves the mossy, loamy trails of the Bavarian Forest as much as the rugged rock of the Dolomites. For technical descents, he is prepared to tackle almost any ascent - under his own steam. As an accessories specialist, he is the first port of call for questions about equipment and add-on parts, while as head of copywriting he sweeps the language crumbs from the pages of the BIKE print editions.
