5 MTB vests in the test
Vests must keep the body warm and at the same time ensure that it does not cool down. And because they are next to the skin, they should also be comfortable to wear. We tested five shirts.

Here you can find the test results of the long-sleeved vests from X-Bionic, Craft, Icebreaker, Löffler and Odlo:

X-Bbionic Energy Accumulator Evo

Price 129 euros, www.x-bionic.com
Weight 285 grammes
Sizes S/M, L/XL, XXL

The high-tech shirt with its special zones fits tightly but very comfortably. You have to like the slight compression. It actually cools the body slightly during the ride. It is particularly suitable for high intensities, which should be maintained. Otherwise the sweat cools down too much.

Craft Active Extreme RN LS

Price 39.95 euros, www.craft.se
Weight 115 grammes
Sizes S-XXL

The Craft is almost a classic that has already proven itself on hundreds of test rides. It is particularly suitable for high intensities because it is not too warm but wicks away a lot of sweat. It dries in a flash, but unfortunately starts to smell a little after repeated use. Price banger!

Icebreaker Zone LS Crewe

Price 89.95 euros, www.loeffler.at
Weight 244 grammes
Sizes XS-2XL

At high intensity, the merino shirt soaks up moisture quickly and feels a little cold on the skin. However, it is ideal as a change shirt for the descent. Typical wool shirt: The Icebreaker is very comfortable to wear, but fits quite loosely. If you like it tighter, you should choose at least one size smaller.

Löffler Transtex Warm Seamless LA

Price 69.95 euros, www.loeffler.at
Weight 236 grammes
Sizes 46/48-58/60

Transtex Warm is just the right material for frostbite. The seamless knitted shirt heats up like a fan oven and feels really comfortable against the skin. Although it absorbs a lot of sweat, the body does not cool down immediately. However, it dries very slowly. Perhaps buy one size smaller.

Odlo Evolution Warm

Price 69.95 euros, www.odlo.com
Weight 201 grammes
Sizes S-3XL

The seamless Odlo sits close to the body without a single crease and disappears deep into the cycling shorts. It is suitable for a wide range of temperatures, warms well and at the same time wicks a lot of sweat away from the body. The Evolution Warm dries extremely quickly. Great: Oeko-Tex 100 certified.
