As a mail order company with three shops in Germany, Votec offers the best equipment package in this test field. In addition to four equipment recommendations, the customer has further options via a modular system. At the frame height tested, the riding position for a rider just under 1.80 metres tall is quite short, relaxed and therefore absolutely suitable for long distances. A cockpit tuning would be recommended for purebred racing use.
On the other hand, the V.CS in the existing setup with a wide riser bar is a lot of fun on single trails and provides security when things get tricky. The Fox fork with easy-to-operate remote lever and rear triangle work well together and impress with their sensitive response and good absorption capacity in fast sections. The kinematics of the V.CS also turn out to be successful. The rear suspension remains extremely stable even when pedalling hard and makes reaching for the pedal platform superfluous. Thanks to revised tube sets and optimised powder coating, the future frames should lose another 250 grams.
CONCLUSION: With its relaxed riding position and comfortable suspension, the perfectly equipped V.CS scores particularly well on marathons and sports tours.
TUNING TIP: For racing use, turn the stem or replace it with a longer one.
