Yes, here it is - the bike that all the testers thought was great. No other bike was more unanimous: both the look and the handling were praised.
In detail: The Trek Fuel EX 5 WSD accelerates better than its competitors right from the start. At 12.6 kilos, the lightest bike in the test was easy to pedal up the climbs on the test lap.
The Fox suspension elements smoothed the road reliably, the suspension travel was completely sufficient (despite the imbalance front to rear: 119 to 130 mm). The moderate riding position proved to be a successful compromise between stretched and upright. Relaxed, but still sporty. This shows that Trek has done its homework when it comes to women's geometry. The high-quality XT/SLX gear combination left nothing to be desired.
However, the ladies did have some criticism: the Bontrager tyres broke faster than the Schwalbe rubber on the Avid brakes, which were not too snappy. In addition, the seatpost could not be lowered far enough.
ConclusionA bike for all occasions. if you love downhills, you should fit fatter tyres.
+ Top frame, lightweight
+ Super chassis
- Tyres could be better
- Saddle post little retractable
