Of all things, the most affordable bike in the test comes from one of the most prestigious manufacturers. Anyone who only expects Specialized to be in the upper class will be surprised. First of all: the bike is not a real marathon racer. Thanks to the very good but relaxed seating position (high cockpit), the very active suspension and the 203 millimetre brake discs, the "FSR XC" is aimed more at all-round use. The weight is kept within limits and the bike is fun to ride, especially downhill. The steering angle and wheelbase ensure a smooth ride, while the fork and shock absorber provide quality suspension travel.
CONCLUSION: not a hunter after seconds, but a fun package for trail and tour. All-round appropriate for the price.
