Single test: Centurion Numinus Float Ultimate 3
Centurion made itself scarce in the BIKE tests this spring. The reason for this was delivery problems. These have now been resolved and the bikes are in the shop. Time for a trail check of the Numinis Ultimate.

The bike with 120 millimetres of suspension travel and a price tag of 2649 euros appeals to a broad target group. The look of the hydroformed frame and the colour mix of the components are also compatible with the masses.

The facts are revealed in the BIKE test lab: In a direct comparison with the competition (All-Mountain-Sport-Test BIKE 4/11->), the Numinis is right at the front with its 11.85 kilos, but the chassis, at just under three kilos, is above the class average. On the other hand, the lightweight wheels are pleasing - saving weight here makes sense for the intended sporty range of use. Likeable: The suspension is easy to set up, after that you can forget about it - if there's nothing to adjust, you don't need to adjust anything.

The rear suspension is drive-neutral and the shock lockout is only needed on tarmac stages. The same applies to the fork. On the test lap, the Numinis shows a manoeuvrable, sporty character. The good riding position and the successful geometry form the basis even for marathon rides. Long distances are fun, as are winding trails, the feedback from the suspension is just right and the sensitive suspension provides just the right amount of riding comfort. We didn't make full use of the suspension travel on the Isar Trail. Thru axles would be desirable, at least on the fork the easy-to-use QR15 axle should be standard.

ConclusionSporty all-mountain bike with high-quality equipment and marathon-capable handling. An all-round success for low mountain tours and Alpine crossings.
