Shark Impact SE One
CONCLUSION: well equipped, but with weaknesses in detail. Narrow application range.

The "Impact One" is aimed at athletes, as these features alone show: steep seat angle, long stem, very narrow handlebars. We can get away with this for climbing, but the resulting nervous steering and the hard-to-control, toxic brakes thwart any feeling of safety on downhills. The rear suspension and shock don't harmonise with each other. The rear end bucks and feels insensitive, lacking the special factory set-up that Fox generally offers. Perhaps okay for racers, but the idea of comfort comes up short. Loveless: Despite the discs, the frame still has cantilever sockets.

CONCLUSIONWell equipped, but with weaknesses in detail. Narrow application range.

TUNING TIP: Fit wide handlebars.
