No other bike in the test features as many XT parts as the Poison. Hubs, cranks, gears and even the cassette are adorned with the logo of the second most expensive Shimano groupset. The frame weight is also in the green zone and realises an easy-to-accelerate 11.3 kilos. The high front and the steep, relatively long stem allow you to sit upright. The very slack seat angle also puts a lot of weight on the rear wheel. When riding, you get the impression of sitting more on the bike than in it, which is at the expense of handling.
CONCLUSIONS: Slightly unbalanced in terms of geometry, lightweight sports bike with high-quality equipment.
TUNING TIP: Push the saddle forwards and fit a shorter and flatter stem.
