The race enters the last of nine laps. We already have almost 1500 metres of altitude in our legs. We pedal up the rooty ascent one last time, looking for the ideal line, switch to the big gear at the top, and off we go! Karl Platt is in the lead, he knows the route like the back of his hand - after all, he has already won the real race here. Location Deidesheim on the Wine Route in the Palatinate Forest, the terrain of the endurance pros and the right place for a special bike test. Not a test on Lake Garda, not a duel in the bike park - but a performance check on a real race track. Cross-country races have been held on the Deidesheim terrain since the early 1990s.
Once a year, the BIKE test cellar becomes a World Cup paddock. Then the most exclusive racehorses roll out of the trailers of the professional racing teams into the BIKE laboratory. They crown the range of the companies, arouse desire in the customers and are the working equipment of the professionals. We put nine exclusive race bikes through their paces in the big comparison test, together costing almost 45,000 euros. Our mission is to filter out the strengths and weaknesses of the bikes.
You can find these models in the test:
Cannondale Scalpel Team, Fusion Floyd, Giant T-Mobile NRS Comp., Merida Mission:C Team, Rotwild RCC 1.0 R, Scott Genius RC-10, Specialised S-Works Epic, Univega Alpina SL-UPCT, Votec NC1 Carbon
