Compared to the significantly more expensive carbon version of the Ninetysix, the HFS 3000 with its aluminium main frame and chainstays comes up short. When it comes to the performance of the rear suspension with X-Fusion shock, however, the cheaper version can go one better. The suspension works more sensitively and readily releases its manageable suspension travel as a good complement to the Fox fork. You sit in a balanced position, have sufficient pressure on the front wheel and still don't feel like you're on a rack. For even better downhill performance, the handlebars could be wider and the brakes more powerful.
CONCLUSIONS: The aluminium-carbon version also impresses with its powerful propulsion and better rear triangle performance.
TUNING TIP: wide handlebars, mount large disc at the front.
