Apart from the model name, the new Rose Thrill Hill has nothing in common with its predecessor and presents itself in the test as a contemporary and competitive marathon bike.

With the new Thrill Hill Rose presents a marathon fully that is faster than its name. The bike was already ready for the 2019 BIKE Festival on Lake Garda, but the planned new model name was already taken. But even with the old model name Thrill Hill, the race bike from Rose makes an impressive appearance. At just 10.67 kilos including pedals and a price of €5,499, the Thrill Hill 5 can easily hold its own against the competition. In size L, the carbon frame weighs 2027 grams without shock. Although this is not the bike's top weight, it is a solid mid-range model.

The Rose Thrill Hill 3 in the BIKE test

In BIKE issue 1/20, the Thrill Hill had to face other race fullys in a comparison test. For this we had the Thrill Hill 3 in a slightly upgraded configuration for 3465 euros. Compared to the standard model for 3099 euros, our 29er test bike had the Ultimate version of the Rock Shox SID and Maxxis Ikon tyres in skinwall design - which every customer can also configure in the configurator. The bike weighed 11.67 kg, the carbon frame in size L without shock 1960 grams. In the end, it received the BIKE test rating "very good".

Rose has recently added a more downhill-orientated version of its Thrill Hill to its range: the Thrill Hill Trail. The two models for 2900 and 4000 euros come with a 120 mm suspension fork, Vario seatpost and tyres with better grip. We call this category of "upgraded" marathon fullys sport tourers, as they are perfectly suited as fast, sporty touring bikes.Photo: Rose Bikes Rose has recently added a more downhill-orientated version of its Thrill Hill to its range: the Thrill Hill Trail.
