Under ten kilos with 120 mm travel and a dropper post: the SL version of the Cirex also cut a fine figure in the starting block of the Capoliveri Legend Cup on Elba.

Compared to the classic Cirex chassis, the Austrians save 265 grams. The 120 mm fork flattens the steering angle to a trail bike-compatible 66.8 degrees, while the longer wheelbase pays off in smoothness. Nevertheless, the down-country bike has not completely shed its race bike genes. The riding position remains sporty, the frame holds two water bottles, and even on the high-percentage concrete ramps on Monte Calamita, the front wheel stuck to the ground.

Find out what the Simplon Cirex SL can be used for in our test. You can download the PDF with all the facts and lab results from BIKE 12/2021 as a PDF below the article.
