KTM Score Elite
Anyone looking for comfort and touring suitability will not be happy with the "Score". The thoroughbred sports bike relies on a firm chassis paired with a drive-orientated geometry.

The "Score Elite" is the entry-level version in KTM's sporty carbon range. Three further equipment variants up to 6,500 euros round off the top end of the range. At 11.35 kilograms, the "Score Elite" is 450 grams heavier than in the catalogue, but still ranks third in our test field for overall weight and second for frames. However, the KTM performs significantly worse in terms of stiffness. A meagre 52.5 Nm/degree means that heavier riders would be better off looking for an alternative. However, riders under 70 kilograms should have no problems.

In any case, the KTM cannot hide its race genes and is primarily aimed at ambitious athletes. The long top tube, long stem and sporty saddle rake speak for themselves. The "Score" is trimmed for propulsion and scores accordingly well in the uphill classification. Although the switchable shock platform did not work on the test bike, the firm rear triangle remains extremely stable even with the shock open. The same picture emerges on the descent. Tight and not very sensitive, the rear suspension only hesitantly releases its 102 millimetres of travel. The narrow handlebar and the too narrow tyres also cost points downhill.

CONCLUSIONS: Anyone looking for comfort and touring suitability will not be happy with the "Score". The thoroughbred sports bike relies on a firm chassis paired with a drive-orientated geometry.
