The solid equipment cannot help the Haibike overcome certain deficits. Too heavy for a marathon bike.

At a whopping 13 kilograms, the Race Star SL from Haibike is a little heavy in the truest sense of the word and clearly lacks light-footedness. 3.2 kilos for the frame with shock is simply too much. The riding position is rather compact. You have the feeling of sitting on the bike rather than in it. Nevertheless, the steep 73° seat angle provides sufficient pressure on the front wheel, while the rear suspension provides good traction and only pumps a little. On descents, the rear suspension is uncomfortable. It reacts stubbornly to fast, bigger hits and bumps more than it absorbs. The only minimally offset handlebar provides a strange grip feeling.

ConclusionThe solid spec can't help the Haibike overcome certain shortcomings. Too heavy for a marathon bike.
