CONCLUSION: GT presents a fast marathon racer for the low mountain range. An exclusion criterion for many riders: there is no bottle cage!

GT's new Race-Fully rolls onto the starting line like Darth Vader. Matt black, fierce, with a play of shapes like an imperial star destroyer. The carbon fibre chassis is manufactured in monocoque construction and features GT's own "I-Drive" suspension system. The design performs very well in the efficiency test, and the rear end also remains stable when accelerating on the trail. There is no bobbing, but the shock requires high air pressure. The rear suspension is supposed to offer 100 millimetres of travel, 90 millimetres on our test bench. And that's exactly how the bike rides: short-stroke, but very sensitive. The wide, curved cockpit reflects the preferences of US racers. Overall, you can tell that the bike is of US descent. The Americans love short-stroke racers, lightweight and with good control. A propulsion-orientated riding position and agile geometry to match. There are hardly any big differences in altitude over there and that justifies the equipment: The small brake discs are sufficient for profiled CC courses, but not for the big Alpine tour. The Kenda tyres are not as trustworthy as a set of Conti or Schwalbe tyres. On the other hand, the complete "XTR" groupset impresses with the lightest wheels. The frame stiffness is moderate, and if you ride very fast, the precision is lacking. The rider weight is limited to 100 kilos. Attention: Only three sizes available, even in L the frame is small!
