The Focus' looks and propulsion-orientated geometry clearly point in the direction of racing. On the other hand, the meagre equipment and the high weight speak against it.

No-frills black and white look, flat bar with climb-friendly bar ends and a steep 71 steering angle. At first glance, the Black Forest looks like a racy racer. However, the fast look is contradicted by the inner values. At 12.9 kilos, the Focus turns out to be a heavyweight and weighs a full two kilos more than the test winner Poison. The propulsion uphill is correspondingly sluggish. The narrow handlebars in combination with the slightly nervous steering behaviour are not convincing downhill either.

CONCLUSION: The Focus' looks and propulsion-orientated geometry clearly point in the direction of racing. On the other hand, the meagre equipment and the high weight speak against it.
