Eurobike novelties: Simplon Razorblade 29
Simplon is presenting a new Razorblade 29 at the Eurobike trade fair, and a super-light SL version of the carbon fibre racer from Vorarlberg will also be available for the first time.

Sharp as a razor blade. The Razorblade is part of the Simplon product range has always stood for carbon fibre hardtails without compromise. The last time was the Simplon Razorblade 29 tested in BIKE 1/2014. Simplon has now redeveloped the 29-inch version of the Razorblade for 2016 - the Razorblade 275 remains. The new Razorblade 29 is designed to impress with its low weight and high rigidity and ensure optimum propulsion without compromise. There will also be a brand new Superlight version - the Razorblade 29 SL - which will take the sting out of any climb. Perfectly harmonised geometry and 29-inch wheels ensure the ultimate riding experience. The Razorblade 29 is a bike for amateur racers looking for speed, smoothness and agility without compromising on comfort.

Superlight version: the Simplon Razorblade 29 SL

A special carbon layup saves another 250 grams in the SL version. The frame weight of the super-light Razorblade from Simplon should therefore be less than 1000 grams. Simplon has also made further improvements to the seating comfort. Simplon calls its comfort technology "Vibrex +", which uses narrow, flexible chainstays to provide plenty of vertical damping in the rear triangle. The Razorblade has never lacked stiffness. The massive bottom bracket area with the largest possible cross-section guarantees high rigidity, while a fin on the left chainstay is also designed to make the bottom bracket stiffer. Thru axles at the front and rear are obligatory. The cable routing is integrated into the frame and cockpit, and the Vorarlberg-based company has even thought of a dropper post. The new Razorblade 29 frame is also designed for the new Shimano "Side Swing" front derailleur technology. If the chain falls off the chainring, an adjustable carbon chain guard stops it.

Models of the Simplon Razorblade 29

The Razorblade 29 will be available in four frame sizes (S-XL), the Superlight version in three sizes (M-XL). Complete bikes of the new Razorblade 29 are available from 2849 euros. For the Simplon Razorblade 29 SL you have to dig a little deeper into your pockets. The complete bikes start at 4399 euros. With the tried and tested Simplon customisation system, both Simplon hardtails can also be adapted precisely to individual requirements and equipment wishes in 2016.
