In addition, the rear suspension of the Meridas is impressively sensitive and filters even the smallest bumps out of the saddle. The frame geometry also emphasises the mountain bike claim, and the slightly sporty riding position puts a lot of pressure on the pedals. And that's a good thing, because on steeper climbs it becomes clear that the drive is actually a little weak on the chest, and then the rider has to lend a helping hand.
Conclusion A bike for moderate tours, the Shimano E6000 drivetrain is a little underpowered for tough climbs.
