Corratec is known for particularly sporty mountain bikes. After the Upper Bavarians recently wanted to go on the hunt for customers among enduro riders with the XTB fully, they are now returning to their roots. The XTB Enduro will no longer be available in 2019, but there will be a new - particularly light - race bike.
As part of the Eurobike 2018, the Corratec the new Revolution iLink demonstratively on a hanging scale. The golden top version weighs just 9.3 kilos (without pedals). The top two versions of the Revolution iLink have 100 millimetres of travel at the front and rear and, of course, 29er wheels.
The frame with VPP rear triangle should even weigh less than 2000 grams including the shock. With such a frame weight, Corratec would then be playing in the same league as brands such as Scott, Specialized or Canyon. In order to reduce the overall weight, the stem, handlebars, saddle and seat post are made from feather-light Tune components.
Unfortunately, geometry data or a test bike for initial test rides were not yet available, but the price region was. It's clear that the new racing file can't be a bargain: the super-light, golden top model costs 8499 euros.
In addition to the lightweight top model, there will be three other versions of the bike between 3799 and 5299 euros. The cheaper versions all come with a longer 120 millimetre fork and a slightly heavier frame.
According to Corratec, even the cheapest model for 3799 euros should still weigh less than 12 kilos. The longer suspension fork is responsible for a safer downhill ride and relaxes the riding position somewhat. All models of the Corratec Revolution iLink should be available from December 2018.
