A ready-to-ride 10.0 kilos including tubes is quite an announcement. Now we also know why Centurion developer Matthias Pfrommer was so damn fast at the Cape Epic last year.

In the XC version of the Numinis', he and his team have incorporated everything that is lightweight and up to date in terms of technology. The result is a stiff carbon chassis with flexing seat stays, Boost standard, two bottle cages and a direct mount rear derailleur. Despite the low cockpit, you sit surprisingly comfortably, also thanks to the super steep seat angle. With its light wheels and low overall weight, the Numinis attacks the competition from the very first bends. What's more, the DT Swiss remote can be used to harden the Fox suspension elements with just two clicks. But it can't hold on to its lead on the descents. The steep steering angle costs smoothness, and the rear suspension lacks a tick of sensitivity on fine hits. On the other hand, the MT8 stoppers are all the more powerful. And here's the thing: the final production frame of the Numinis XC should weigh another 100 grams less.

ConclusionThe climbing rocket pushes its way to the top on the climbs, but is beaten by the competition on the downhills. First choice for marathons!

The alternative: For 4600 euros you get the same frame, Fox Performance Elite suspension and an 11-speed Shimano XT. What more could you want?
