Centurion Backfire 800
Unobtrusive tourer with tuning potential in terms of equipment.

At 1656 grams, the Centurion's hydroformed frame is one of the lighter in the test field. Although the frame stiffness is the lowest at 85 Nm/°, it is still well within the green zone. Due to the spec and fork (only 80 millimetres of travel), the Backfire is at the back of the midfield. The handlebar lockout is missing on the climbs and we would like a little more suspension comfort on the descents. The riding position on the 46 mm frame is short. However, the jump to the next size is quite large.

CONCLUSIONS: Unobtrusive tourer with tuning potential in terms of equipment.

TUNING TIP: longer fork.
