At first glance, we could hardly believe that the Nerve with its almost complete XX drivetrain, SID-XX fork and DT system wheels would fit into this test field. But the price tag of the sporty 100-millimetre full-suspension bike proved us wrong. With the SID fork, which can be locked from the handlebars, and the drive-neutral rear triangle, it is an excellent climber even with two chainrings. The light wheels in the test (3694 grams) provide powerful propulsion. On the downhill section of our test lap, the firm fork gave a lot of feedback and the rear utilised the entire stroke. Only on very small bumps does the shock not react as sensitively as the Ghost. The anodised frame with internally routed cables, post mount at the rear and tapered head tube at the front also plays a part in the workmanship.
Conclusion: Great equipment in all areas make the Canyon the sportiest bike in the test.
