Sit on it and feel like Karl Platt at the Cape Epic. With the Bulls Wild Flow, you can feel the influence of the racing team and that the basic bike layout was designed for the team (even though the team rides 10.5-kilo carbon fullys). The frame has good geometry and all the modern features (thru-axle, clever cable routing, tapered head tube), but is heavy. The kinematics are also aimed at sporty riders: the rear end remains smooth under chain tension, which is what racers want. It is not particularly sensitive - racers can live with that too. "Firm and sporty" are also the comments from the readers' test crew, who voted the Bulls as one of their favourites. But the concept works. With the stem turned downwards, the motto is: Open fire! Aggressive, sporty, fast - these are the uphill attributes. The Wild Flow is a climbing machine. It's not surprising that non-professionals have to be highly focussed when riding downhill in this position.
ConclusionA successful marathon racer with sports suspension and high-quality equipment. The proximity to the Bulls racing team is clear.
PLUS Target group-orientated kinematics, XT groupset, high-quality equipment, Shadow Plus rear derailleur
MINUS Only three frame sizes, heavy chassis, Crank Brothers seatpost and stem not user-friendly
The alternative
The Bulls Wild Flow 1 costs € 1999 and is said to be 700 grams heavier than the Wild Flow 2. The Shimano SLX drivetrain and Rock Shox suspension (fork with lockout remote) work well.
