Designed as a marathon bike, the Speedfox from the Swiss brand BMC is primarily intended to make sporty riders happy. After several laps of our test track, we can say: goal achieved. The riding position is by no means too stretched, but a good compromise between sport and touring. The equipment of the Speedfox with SLX and XT components as well as favourable add-on parts is only average. Nevertheless, thanks to the lightweight frame, the scales remain at a lean 12.05 kilos. With plenty of pressure on the front wheel, the Speedfox also climbs steep ramps, while the rear suspension works sensitively with little bobbing. The smooth-running BMC is also one of the best downhill bikes. The only drawbacks are the Schwalbe performance tyres, which don't grip well in the wet.
Conclusion: Well-made all-mountain bike with a wide range of use and convincing suspension.
+ Lightweight bike
+ Wide range of applications
+ Harmonious chassis
- Performance tyres
