The "Evolve Team" shows the best overall picture in this comparison test. With a successful riding position and safe handling, the bike is not only suitable for pure marathon use, but also for longer tours.

It doesn't always have to be carbon fibre. With the "Evolve Team", Bergamont proves how to put together a light and successful overall package - despite having the second heaviest frame in the test. At a competitive 11.15 kilograms, the visually clean single-pivot bike is extremely agile and sprint-friendly. The geometry is also pleasing. With a sporty but not overly stretched riding position, the front wheel maintains contact with the ground for a long time, even on steep ramps, without overtaxing the rider on extended tours. Even without activating the pedal platform of the shock, the rear end remains very stable when pedalling, as the efficiency measurement confirms. Nevertheless, the rear end also reacts to small bumps and utilises the suspension travel effectively at higher speeds. Only on really fast hits does the rear end harden up a little and could do with a little less compression in the basic setup.

With top handling marks, the "Evolve" cuts a fine figure even on twisty single trails and manoeuvres playfully through tight turns. Bergamont is the only manufacturer in the test to use large brake discs at the front and rear - exemplary. However, there was a deduction for the large amount of play of the seat post in the frame and the grips moving on the handlebars.

CONCLUSIONS: The "Evolve Team" shows the best overall picture in this comparison test. With a successful riding position and safe handling, the bike is not only suitable for pure marathon use, but also for longer tours.

TUNING TIP: Fit wider tyres and wider handlebars.
