The perfect espresso is hard to tell apart from a muckfuck on the outside. The secret is in the detail. Fine beans, the right steam pressure and the ideal grind ensure the right flavour. Like an espresso, tyres are simply black at first glance. There is only one way to filter out the different qualities: try them.
We analysed the quality of the new tyres on test benches and in practice with regard to their areas of application. Good values for rolling resistance, cornering grip, traction and puncture resistance characterise the manufacturers' best formulations. 15 models from two categories were at the start. Cross-country and marathon tyres make up one class, all-mountain tyres the other.
