This is how it works: Convert tyres to tubeless
No more flat tyres! Tubeless tyres make dreams come true. Thanks to conversion kits, every rim becomes a tubeless system in just a few minutes. Caution: Fitting errors can turn a bike tour into a hike.

What is tubeless ready?

Use tubeless-ready tyres. But which tyres are tubeless ready? Most tyre models from Schwalbe, Continental and Co. are now tubeless ready anyway. These "tubeless ready" tyres have specially reinforced sidewalls and, according to the manufacturer, are absolutely airtight. Conversion is also possible with standard tyres, but sealing is much more difficult.

Advantages and disadvantages of tubeless systems?

+ Less susceptible to punctures

+ No more carbon copies

+ Lower rolling resistance

+ Weight advantage

+ Low tyre pressure, more comfort and traction

- Milk must be topped up approximately every three months

- Elaborate assembly

- High price compared to the hose

- Air can escape during high compressions (landing)

This is how it works - instructions for tubeless conversion:

Remove the old rim tape and fit the new one tightly. Important: cover all spoke openings. Eclipse and DT Swiss supply double-sided adhesive tape onto which the rubber tape (step 2) is stuck. Then pierce the rim tape at the valve opening of the rim with a screwdriver.
