Single test: Mud tyre Maxxis Beaver
No mud hole is too deep and no trail too muddy for the Maxxis Beaver. We tested the mud tyre in the worst weather.

The Beaver in the wide 2.25 version is an ideal companion for wet, muddy conditions in winter. Thanks to its open tread, the tyre has very good self-cleaning properties and tracks safely with solid grip even on deep ground. Even on a wide rim, the 2.25 inch wide tyre is quite slim overall. For a proven specialist for deep soils, it rolls acceptably. If you only mount the Beaver on the front wheel anyway, there is no need to fear long distances. The narrower version of the Beaver rolled at 39.6 watts on our test bench. The cut- and puncture-resistant EXO-Protection in the sidewall provides puncture protection. All in all, an absolutely recommendable bike: a safe companion for wet conditions and therefore for most of the time in Germany.

PLUS Acceptable rolling resistance, good self-cleaning, good grip
MINUS Fits narrow
