New classic tyre: Schwalbe Nobby Nic
A new profile, more puncture protection and two compounds: the third generation of the Nobby Nic from Schwalbe is intended to be the reference for all-mountain tyres.

The Nobby Nic is Schwalbe's tyre with the widest range of applications. It is popular with touring and all-mountain riders. But it is even at the starting line in fast marathon races or technically demanding enduro competitions. Schwalbe is now presenting the third generation of the Nobby Nic. Developer Markus Hachmeyer says: "It's not the fastest XC tyre, not the most robust enduro tyre and not the grippiest mud tyre either, but if you're looking for a tyre that works in every situation, a tyre that you'll never go wrong with, no matter what the weather brings, no matter what kind of terrain awaits you, then there's no better choice than the new Nobby Nic".

Snake Skin puncture protection increased by 20 per cent

The new Nobby Nic is Tubeless Easy. It comes with a new, monofilament Snake Skin fabric on the sidewall as standard. This makes it even less sensitive to cuts, but above all makes tubeless conversion with latex milk easier and safer than ever before. Snake Skin is one of the best inventions Schwalbe has ever made for mountain bikes. The Snake Skin fabric makes a tyre only about 40-50 grams heavier. The new fabric is made from a monofilament polyamide fibre. It has three decisive advantages: even better cut resistance, increased puncture resistance and, above all, it enables a very light tubeless conversion. The use of sealing fluid is required, but otherwise fitting is just as easy as with real tubeless tyres. Long conversion processes with several attempts, intensive shaking and frequent re-inflation are a thing of the past.

Tubeless easy: Easier to fit tubeless

Because this makes tubeless conversion very easy, Schwalbe calls the tyres Tubeless Easy. Tubeless Easy replaces both the previous tubeless tyres and the tubeless ready versions.

Stronger outer cleats and optimised centre cleats

The tread design has been completely revised. It is now even more versatile and works even more confidently in every riding situation. To achieve this, Markus Hachmeyer, Schwalbe's chief developer, has further optimised every single lug. Size, shape, surface, arrangement. Every detail has an influence on the tyre's riding performance. Significantly larger and repositioned shoulder lugs improve control on demanding trails. Well-dimensioned gaps enable the Nobby Nic to provide excellent self-cleaning on muddy and loose surfaces. The V-shaped cuts in the centre lugs provide additional braking and grip edges without increasing block flex. Optimised lug arrangement in the centre ensures improved traction, improved braking performance and very controllable steering behaviour.

Two rubber compounds

The new Nobby Nic will be available in two rubber compounds. A fast Pace Star version and a grippy Trail Star version. The Pace Star uses an extremely fast XC compound: a light rolling base, fast centre compound in the middle and grippy shoulders.
