I already suspected what our last, rather elaborate tyre test revealed: the easy-rolling Hans Dampf is an ideal rear tyre for enduro bikes.

As I still define the term enduro in the classic sense, I need a tyre on the rear that rolls easily. I don't want to toil my way to the mountain top on sticky DH tyres. Ideal: the Hans Dampf with its compact lugs. The rubber compound can be harder. Schwalbe changed the programme, now "Soft" in a width of 2.35 inches is the hardest compound. I also belong to the group that rides tyres right down (photo) - and accepts the technical challenge of catching the rear again and again.

It's completely different at the front, of course. I want maximum grip and safety. In short: Schwalbe Magic Mary Supergravity at the front, Hans Dampf at the rear (Supertrail for more moderate use or Supergravity for more action) - you can't go wrong!

STRENGTHS: Easy rolling, sufficient grip, durability

WEAKNESSES: none

Conclusion: The lab has proven it, practice has shown it: Schwalbe's Hans Dampf is a pretty good rear tyre for enduro bikes.
