The Fürth-based distributor Cosmic Sports is expanding its brand portfolio to include the US tyre brand Teravail. The Minneapolis-based brand specialises in tyres and components for the contact points between rider, bike and terrain. To mark the launch, Teravail is presenting four new tyre models for different areas of use, from downcountry to gravel.
The new quartet of tyres from Teravail covers a wide range of applications. The Drawpoint is designed for technical trails and fast line choice in the downcountry segment. According to the manufacturer, it combines a grippy rubber compound with fast-rolling centre lugs and pronounced shoulder lugs. This should enable predictable and safe riding behaviour. The Drawpoint is available in 29 inches with a width of 2.4 inches and is offered in two carcass variants: a light trail carcass with 120 TPI and 825 grams as well as a more robust Durable carcass with 60 TPI and 910 grams.
Teravail has the Clifty in its programme for all-mountain use. It is designed for maximum traction on unpredictable terrain. Uniformly tuned centre and transition lugs are designed to ensure constant ground contact and good-natured cornering behaviour. The Clifty is offered in 29 inch with a width of 2.5 inches and is available in two different rubber compounds: Grip and Grip Plus for maximum traction. There is also a choice of two carcass variants: a Durable carcass with 60 TPI and 1,020 grams and a two-ply Durable Plus carcass with 120 TPI and 1,220 grams.
Teravail has the Camrock in its programme for cross-country racers. The flat lug profile with sharp edges is designed to enable fast propulsion and efficient power transmission. The fast rubber compound reduces rolling resistance. The Camrock is available in 29 inches with a width of 2.4 inches and is also available in two casing variants: a light trail casing with 120 TPI and 825 grams and a more robust Durable casing with 60 TPI and 910 grams.
Teravail presents the Updraft for gravel use. It is the brand's fastest gravel tyre to date. The reduced centre tread improves propulsion, while pronounced shoulder lugs are designed to provide reliable feedback when cornering. The Updraft is available in 700c with widths from 35 to 50 millimetres. It is available in a Fast rubber compound and two carcass variants: a light and flexible Light & Supple carcass with 120 TPI and a more robust Durable carcass with 60 TPI.
To complement the new tyre models, Teravail is presenting a tubeless valve. It is characterised by an integrated valve insert tool in the valve cover. A non-slip lock nut is designed to make handling easier. At the base, the valve has a 4 millimetre hexagon socket for more leverage when fitting and removing.
