We don't want to ride without it! Dropper posts are a blessing and perhaps the most important development in mountain biking since the invention of disc brakes. Brand new on the market: the "Elite Dropper" from the US Edel label Thomson.

125 millimetres of stepless adjustability with a light touch of the thumb - that's the kind of comfort we want. The Thomson is easy to fit and works with a cable pull. A nice touch: the small, comfortable thumb lever. The spring deflection speed is preset by the factory and slows down over the last few millimetres, so there is no annoying clipping as with some competitor models. Clever: A cable clip for cable routing, so nothing kinks! The Thomson looks classy and has worked excellently so far. We hope it stays that way. If not, we'll be in touch again!

PLUS Look, stepless function, filigree lever
MINUS expensive

CONCLUSION Elegant-looking Vario support with cable release on the handlebars. Great: the 125 millimetre stepless adjustability.

Weight592 grammes.
Price: 399 Euro
