Test of the Specialized Command XCP mini dropper post
The Command XCP Vario seatpost from Specialized only has a maximum adjustment range of 50 millimetres and fits most race bikes thanks to its 27.2 mm diameter.

The remote control and the hard stop when extending the telescopic seatpost are just like its big brother - the Command Post. But even the minimal drop of 35 millimetres makes tricky sections on the Race-Hartail easier. After several months in the mud and hundreds of insertion and removal cycles, the post had slight lateral play. The clamp at the top can be replaced and therefore accepts both saddle racks with a round profile and carbon racks with an oval profile. The lower section of the post is encased in carbon fibre. The mechanical lowering mechanism is located at the lower end of the post, i.e. the cable has to be routed through the inside of the frame. A trick: If the frame does not have an opening for inserting the cable, you can simply remove the thread of the upper bottle cage eyelet and insert the cable into the seat tube. However, you will then have to do without the second bottle cage. The Command XCP from Specialized is available in two lengths: In addition to the 350 with 35 mm drop, there is a 400 mm long post with 50 mm drop to choose from.
