Telescopic seat posts
The idea is anything but new. As early as 1984, people were already thinking about quick saddle height adjustment. Seven great-grandchildren of the "Hite Rite" spring show what they can do in the test.

A height-adjustable telescopic seatpost makes every mountain biker a better rider. Full stop. "Complete rubbish", some die-hard cross-country racers may now think. Lowering the saddle on descents? I don't need to, I can get down anywhere as it is. What's more, these things are far too heavy. Admittedly, at 481 to 592 grams, the weight of an automatic telescopic post can't compete with a standard system - you're carrying around 250 to 350 grams of extra weight. And that's it for the disadvantages. Full stop.
