Faster, more durable, longer: Rock Shox has fundamentally revised the Reverb telescopic seatpost for 2016. Up to 170 mm travel and significantly increased durability are announced.

The new Rock Shox Reverb telescopic seatpost, which will be available from 2016, looks confusingly similar to the current version. But the outward impression is deceptive: inside, the Reverb has been completely redesigned. Mainly to increase the durability of the seatpost. No seal has been left untouched and a new piston from Schweinfurt specialist SKF ensures a more reliable separation of air and oil. Optimised plain bearing bushes are intended to improve pipe guidance. According to internal tests, the new prop is now up to six times more durable than before.

More stroke, more speed, barely higher price

The Reverb 2017 follows the trend towards larger adjustment ranges and will offer up to 170 mm travel in the Stealth version with hydraulic lines routed in the frame in the standard diameters from 30.9 mm. The externally controlled standard version now stops at a maximum of 125 mm. The most important technical details are listed in the table below.

The extension speed is increased compared to the current model. The slowest setting of the new post should be as fast as the fastest setting of the old post, which should make the next Reverb less sensitive to cold. The operating lever of the hydraulic control remains unchanged.

US prices in dollars will also remain the same, while euro prices will rise slightly by just under 5%. According to the manufacturer, the Reverb Stealth will be delivered to dealers in March. The standard version with external control will follow in June.
