If you want to ride like freeride legend Hans Rey, you first have to sit like Hans Rey. And he sits on a saddle from SQlab, the top model 611 to be precise, with its own colour scheme of course.

SQlab from Taufkirchen near Munich has long been one of Germany's top addresses for genuine bicycle ergonomics. With many years of experience and a lot of research, the company has developed sophisticated products that regularly achieve above-average results in BIKE tests. Their reputation has now spread as far as California.

"611 TiTube" is the name of the current top-of-the-range saddle model, which is designed with a particularly long nose for an active riding style. The sides of the saddle give way to protect the sit bones. Numbness is prevented by a depression in the saddle. This should relieve the perineal area by 60 to 75 per cent. At 270 grams, the saddle is also reasonably light and available in three widths.

Even freeride legend Hans "No Way" Rey now rides an SQlab saddle, which was designed to match his new GT bike and is now available as a Signature Series. The colour scheme is rather atypical for SQlab. With black, yellow and blue, the limited Hans Rey edition is the canary among saddles. Grips are also available in matching colours.

If you prefer something more discreet, you can always go for the standard model. Or the Tim Commerford edition in black and white. The Sattek was designed according to the ideas of the passionate biker and bassist from "Rage Against the Machine". Both special models cost 159.95 euros and are available in widths of 13, 14 and 15 centimetres. The weight is 270-275 grams.
