Five seat creams tested
Seat creams can help you avoid looking like a baboon in a zoo after hours of torture in the saddle. We have tested five variants - from professional creams to cheap alternatives.

Completely odourless, Xenofit Second Skin is popular with the testers, while Eule's seat cream is unbeatable in terms of protection. Test letters on the individual seat creams and the evaluation can be found below.

You can find these five buttock creams in the test:

Balea Milking Grease

250 ml - 0,95 Euro
More than just an economy option: the calendula-scented milking fat from the dm drugstore (contains petrolatum) smells like Eule's buttock cream and doesn't have to hide behind the expensive speciality products. A fingerful of the viscous grease prevents pressure marks and keeps seat cushions and buttocks supple for a long time. Unbeatable value for money!

Cesra Ilon Protect

50 ml - 9,70 Euro
The Ilon Protect ointment from Cesra comes from the pharmaceutical warehouse. The turquoise, viscous paste smells of herbs like an inhalation cream. It contains olive oil to nourish stressed skin on the bum. It does not contain paraffin oil, but does contain petrolatum: a hydrocarbon mixture that hinders the body's natural detoxification processes.

Elite Ozone Protect Cream Chamois

150 ml - 16 Euro
Somewhere between after-shave balm and hand cream: the white, thin chamois cream from the Italians is easy to apply, absorbs quickly and refreshes irritated, dried-out areas of skin. Instead of herbs, the Protect Cream Chamois smells like a perfumed hand cream. What a shame: it is based on paraffin oil, which contains petroleum.

Protection 4/6 stars

Owl's buttock cream

250 ml - 16,95 Euro
Natural performance enhancement: Dieter "Eule" Ruthenberg, carer for the former Team Telekom, developed this fragrant, waxy buttock cream. The viscous, floral-scented ointment leaves a long-lasting protective film on the skin. Contains natural birch bark extract and paraffin oil. Top protection for ultra-marathons.

Xenofit Second Skin

125 ml - 5,50 Euro
With their Second Skin (contains paraffin oil), the nutrition specialists have launched a viscous cream based on deer tallow. Thanks to its viscous consistency, it protects against chafing for a long time and can be applied to protect against the cold. The highlight: the cream is completely odourless. The first choice for anyone who doesn't like a mix of herbs.
