The carbon shell of the Reform saddle can be heated via a socket using a magnetic plug. How does the customised body shape feel in practice?

The carbon shell of the Reform TheSeymour can be heated via a socket using a magnetic plug. Then you just sit down and pedal, and the shell adapts to the shape of your body. The result is clearly visible, the sit bones have immortalised themselves in the upholstery - somewhat one-sided, but this corresponds to my anatomy. The Seymour sits race-style tight and with little cushioning, but without unpleasant pressure even on long rides. The price is steep, the plug comes in US format.

Stefan Frey, BIKE test editor: "It's crazy how the heated Reform saddle moulds itself to the body. However, the carbon shell and frame make it very unyielding. The saddle nose is quite short for steep climbs."Photo: Georg Grieshaber Stefan Frey, BIKE test editor: "It's crazy how the heated Reform saddle moulds itself to the body. Stefan Frey is from Lower Bavaria and loves the mossy, loamy trails of the Bavarian Forest as much as the rugged rock of the Dolomites. For technical descents, he is prepared to tackle almost any ascent - under his own steam. As an accessories specialist, he is the first port of call for questions about equipment and add-on parts, while as head of copywriting he sweeps the language crumbs from the pages of the BIKE print editions.
