Very British: Hope Union TC pedals in test
The Brits have recently added an elegantly milled alternative to Shimano's trail pedals with clever details to their range.

The Hope fleet: Cleats with a 12 or 13 degree release angle and 4 or 5 degree float, shims for different shoe profiles, optional pins and a scale for the engagement hardness. The stance of the Union TC is excellent, the click-in via the double mechanism is somewhat smoother than with the Japanese and, after a short familiarisation period, absolutely reliable. Three ball bearings and one plain bearing promise a long service life for the Hope Union TC.

Stefan Frey, BIKE test editor: "Hope's Union pedals are a real eye-catcher and functionally absolutely top. Only when getting on did the double mechanism sometimes click in 'incorrectly' and the foot slipped out of the binding."Photo: Georg Grieshaber Stefan Frey, BIKE test editor: "Hope's Union pedals are a real eye-catcher and functionally absolutely top.
