Crankbrothers is expanding its pedal range with newly revised Stamp models. As before, the platform pedals are available in two sizes - for bikers with large feet and smaller feet. This should ensure the most efficient power transmission possible. With the reinforced composite construction and a flat profile, the pedals aim to improve grip and durability, says the manufacturer.
The Stamp pedals are available in two different sizes: Small and Large. The Small version is designed for shoe sizes from EU 37 to 43 (US 5-10), while the Large version is intended for sizes from EU 43 to 49 (US 10-15).
This differentiation is intended to ensure that bikers have an optimum contact surface and control over the pedal regardless of their shoe size.
The Small version has a contact area of 101 x 101 millimetres, while the Large version is slightly larger at 115.6 x 112 millimetres. This specific adaptation should not only increase comfort, but also improve pedalling efficiency.
Crankbrothers has placed particular emphasis on durability and performance in the further development of the Stamp plastic pedals. The pedal body is made of a reinforced composite material, which is designed to offer high resistance and low weight at the same time.
The axle is made of chromoly steel. There are twelve moulded traction pins on each side of the pedal, which should ensure a secure grip even in demanding conditions. Another feature is the flat profile of the pedals, which has been deliberately kept low at 13.5 to 15.5 millimetres to minimise the risk of bumps and reduce weight at the same time.
Special attention was paid to the bearing technology. The Stamp pedals are equipped with Igus bearings which, according to the manufacturer, are characterised by high wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction. These properties should help to ensure that the pedals function reliably even under adverse conditions.
The bearing concept is complemented by a special sealing system that prevents the ingress of water and dirt and thus extends the service life of the pedals. Crankbrothers gives a five-year guarantee on the Stamp pedals.
The weight differences between the two size variants are moderate. A pair of small pedals weighs 305 grams, while the large version is only slightly heavier at 331 grams per pair. This puts the Stamp pedals in the middle weight range for platform pedals in their class.
Crankbrothers offers the pedals in four different colours: Black, turquoise, brown and light red. This allows bikers to match the colour of the pedals to their bike or their personal preferences.
With a standardised price of 44.99 euros, Crankbrothers offers the Stamp pedals in the mid-price segment for platform pedals. This price applies to both the Small and Large versions and for all colour options.
The range is therefore aimed at both beginners and experienced mountain bikers who are looking for a reliable pedal with a good price-performance ratio. The manufacturer did not provide any information on availability in stores.
