Look Trail Roc: Flat pedal with a large footprint
Platform pedals have become an integral part of MTB sport. Look joins the trend and adds its first flat pedal to the range.

For the first time, the inventor of the clipless system presents a platform pedal. With the Trail Roc, Look is not only offering its first product at a favourable price, but also a secure footing thanks to the particularly large tread surface.

The generous, yet only 17 millimetre high platform of the Trail Roc flat pedals immediately catches the eye. According to the manufacturer, feet should find a reliable foothold on a surface measuring 110 x 110 millimetres. The secure footing is supported by 12 interchangeable stainless steel pins of different heights. Pins 10 mm long at the front and rear and 8 mm long in the centre form a slightly concave contact surface and are designed to claw into a wide variety of shoe soles.

Two industrial ball bearings and one plain bearing bush per axle are designed to ensure unimpeded turning under any conditions. The connection to the cranks is provided by an inexpensive but robust chromoly axle. The forged aluminium pedal pair with steel axle weighs 430 grams. The price: 69.90 euros.
