The MC-Air from tinkerer Armin Hofreiter was less visually appealing to me. The promise that Armin gave me, on the other hand, was very appealing.

The MC-Air should be equipped with robust bearings and build up enormous grip through a well thought-out grip behaviour to the sole. The tech details have no place here. But both promises were kept - over ten months of continuous use.

STRENGTHS Grip, durability, lightweight

WEAKNESSES expensive

Weight 356 grammes

Price: 129 Euro

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
