Endurance test: Shimano XTR pedals
For decades, pedals bearing the XTR logo have stood for a long and defect-free bike life. We tested whether this also applies to the new Shimano XTR pedals over many kilometres.

The new pedals are slightly flatter. This means that shoes with a high profile have less lateral play and sit more firmly on the pedal. In the all-mountain version, the cage provides additional grip. Clipping in and releasing work reliably in every position as usual. Only those who run in deep mud have to tap the cleats once or twice before clicking them in. Hard stone or ground contact only cost the robust clickies minor scratches. Even the bearings are still running like new after eight months.

CONCLUSIONCarefree clipless pedals in two versions (Race and All Mountain), which usually survive more than one bike.
