Endurance test: Look S-Track Carbon-TI pedals
The lightest version of the S-Track pedal from Look weighs just 230 grams thanks to its titanium axle and carbon body and should therefore appeal to racers in particular. Here is the test.

The cleat mechanism offers three degrees of lateral movement and minimal lateral play. You don't click in quite as intuitively as with the SPD system, for example. Once in the pedal, however, you stand very securely and without any play, which is reflected in what feels like good power transmission. The pedals are released at 15 degrees, whereby the release force is not adjustable. The biggest shortcoming of the S-Track pedals is their self-cleaning properties. Deep mud or snow clog the pedal and make it much more difficult to get on. The bearings have also suffered badly after around 1000 kilometres and run noticeably rough.
