The "Mallet" series offers one of the few pedals that can be comfortably mounted with clipless shoes or flat soles. No matter what: The pedal is bombproof. Anyone switching from conventional systems to the "Eggbeater" click mechanism will need a short familiarisation phase. Fitting the cleats is also a little awkward, but they are highly customisable. The pins are interchangeable, and the bearings didn't cause any problems. At 508 grams, the "Mallet 1" is not for weight fetishists.
